Classes!
Crochet classes are up!
It's been a long time coming, but we're finally starting to offer classes in the shop!
First up we have three offerings for crochet...
Learn to Crochet meets on 4 Saturday mornings in September and covers all the basics plus your very first project.
Crochet Beyond the Basics meets on 2 Saturday mornings in October and is designed for those who know how to make a few stitches and want to expand their skill set.
Crochet: Reading Patterns, Charts, and Stitches meets on the afternoon of Saturday, September 5th. This class is for you if you learned to crochet by watching someone or from videos, and you know how to make stitches, and you want to make all the cool things, but you're held back because you don't yet know the meaning of all those abbreviations and symbols in patterns.
This is just the beginning! More sessions of these classes, and of course knitting classes, will be added to the schedule. We always announce these in our newsletter, so be sure to sign up for that below if you're not already receiving it!
What a year!
The Ministry of Yarn is ONE YEAR OLD!
We are celebrating one year in business! Thank you to all our customers for making these last 12 months such a joy and a success!
OK, technically our birthday is August 30, but that's a Sunday and we're not open, so we're celebrating all around it, from August 25 to September 5.
Come to the shop during these weeks and make a purchase in any amount, and you'll receive this commemorative pin featuring our bell of yarn and glittery needles and hook! It's 1-1/2 inches long and 5/8 of an inch tall, and it has our initials (TMoY) on the back. (One per customer, obv)
There may be other festive birthday things happening on various days...we'll just have to see!

Twice Sheared Sheep Trunk Show!
From September 23-30, we'll be hosting an expanded array of the extremely clever and beautiful notions from Twice Sheared Sheep. We already offer several of Dawn's row counters, stitch markers, and quick gauges, but during the last eight days of September, there will be MORE! Customizable project journals, Yarn-to-Go carousels, Stitch Scout multi-tools...save the date to come check out these pretties in person!

Social Stitchin' (a.k.a. open stitching times)
We invite you to bring your yarn craft project (knitting, crochet, anything fiber-y and portable) and come hang out in the shop with us! We have a comfy living room space where you can meet other makers, share what you're working on, get inspiration or advice or sympathy, and make new friends who get your love of yarn.

Early riser? Come on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 12:00 noon
Wednesday evenings
Work a 9-to-5 job? Stop in on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Thursday afternoons
Want a relaxing way to wind down the day? Visit us on Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm
Friday lunchtime
Need a mid-day break? Pop in on Fridays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Saturday all day!
Any time on Saturday is the right time - drop by between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm

The Ministry of Yarn has gift cards! They're perfect for when you want to support your person's hobby, but it's better for everyone if they get to choose their own materials.
Cards can be set up for any denomination from $10 to $500, and they never expire. Stop by the shop or call 302-294-6078 during business hours, and we'll hook you up! If you purchase by phone, we are happy to mail the gift card to you or directly to your recipient.
